Authentic Carne Asada
A delicious Carne Asada recipe with authentic flavors using your Bruce Ranch carne asada or skirt steak.
2-4 lbs of BRB skirt steak or carne asada
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp carne asada seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
2-3 Tbsp olive oil
3-4 limes, juiced
Handful cilantro, chopped
If you don’t have carne seasoning make your own. We did!
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1 Tbsp minced onion
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
Pour olive oil into mixing dish and stir in lime juice. Next add spices and whisk together. Add garlic and cilantro and whisk again.
Put BRB beef into ziploc bag and pour marinade into bag. Close bag, massage marinade into the meat and put into fridge to continue marinating for 3-4 hours or overnight if you like.
PELLET GRILL INSTRUCTIONS: When ready to cook set your pellet grill/smoker to 225 F. Bring marinated meat to room temperature.
Place skirt steak/carne asada directly on the grill. Close lid and smoke for 45 min.
Remove beef from grill.
Increase pellet grill temperature to 450 F and preheat for 15 min.
When grill reaches temp, return beef to grill and sear until the internal temp reaches 135-140 F for medium or your desired doneness, about 2 min per side.
Remove carne asada and rest covered for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
